Presenter: Fred Treseler
Fred Treseler is a running industry expert and director of several John Hancock programs related to the Boston Marathon. In his 24-year tenure as a John Hancock consultant and supporter of the sport, Fred has fostered the international reputation of excellence associated with John Hancock’s sponsorship of the Boston Marathon. Fred is the president of Boston-based TRACS, Inc., a global sports marketing and event management firm, which is responsible for the design and execution of John Hancock running initiatives.
He is the director of the John Hancock Elite Athlete Clinic Program, the John Hancock Elite Athlete Village, the John Hancock Adopt-a-Marathoner Program at the Elmwood School in Hopkinton, MA and program manager of the John Hancock Marathon Challenge: RunningMatters. Thanks to Mr. Treseler’s outstanding leadership, the John Hancock programs have embraced the community through the sport of running.
In his 35 years of coaching, Fred is recognized as one of the premier coaches and talent identification experts in the running industry. Fred has garnered a strong reputation for successfully coaching and developing athletes to high performance at the high school, collegiate, national and Olympic levels, including elite American distance runners. He has also served as coach-clinician for the US Elite Athlete Fitness Program at the Olympic Center in Colorado Springs. Currently, he is the head coach of the Emerging Elites program, which focuses on training and developing talented high school runners in eastern Massachusetts.
He and his wife, Marita, live in Chestnut Hill, MA at the top of Heartbreak Hill at mile 20 of the Boston Marathon course.
